As a Protestant congregation Eden Church recognizes two sacraments as established by our Lord Jesus Christ. They are baptism and Holy Communion. Eden Church is a congregation that offers the sacrament of baptism in two ways. People who are old enough to profess faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior are baptized as a sign of their belonging to Christ and their being a part of Christ’s Church. The children of believers are also offered the sacrament of baptism with parents promising to raise them in the faith in the hopes that they to will come to confess Jesus Christ as their own Lord and Savior.
If you are a believer in Christ who hasn’t yet been baptized and would like to do so please contact the Church office to schedule a meeting with the Senior Pastor to discuss this important step in your faith journey. Parents who want their child to be baptized should also contact the Church office to schedule a meeting with the Senior Pastor about this important part of their Child’s life.
Your wedding day at Eden Church is a celebration of a covenanted commitment that has its foundation in the faithfulness of God’s love. This Christian marriage ceremony is a service of worship offered to God.
The sanctuary is a favorite setting for weddings in Edwardsville. The Senior Pastor of our Church, our wedding coordinator, and other musicians will work with you to plan your ceremony.
Since this is a favorite setting for many couples, you are encouraged to reserve your date well in advance. You can request a wedding booklet, which contains all the rules, fees and reservation form, by contacting the church office by email info@edenchurch-edw.org or by phone at 618-656-4330.
In the Christian community, death is a shared experience that touches the life of the entire family of faith. When a death occurs, either the immediate family or the funeral director will contact the pastor. The pastor will work with you and the funeral director in the planning of the service.
The service recognizes both the pain and sorrow of the separation that accompanies death and the hope and joy of the promises of God to those who die and are raised in Jesus Christ.
Eden works closely with all area funeral homes to meet the needs of the bereaved. The pastor regularly conducts the services at the funeral home and/or graveside. Funeral services are also conducted at the church. Your funeral director will help you coordinate the setting and time.
Many families find that a luncheon following the graveside service is a first step in the healing process. If a luncheon is desired, the family will be put in touch with our volunteers who are happy to serve.
When the family meets with the funeral director they are often asked about memorials. Eden is always honored to be the beneficiary of memorials. The pastor will gladly talk about the use of memorials.
